Did I Register a Macbook Pro or iPod Touch?
October 15th, 2008 | General | 10 Comments
Well, as you all know, I recently purchased a brand new Macbook Pro, The new fall 2008 model. Well, as I was installing Leapord, I registered the new Macbook Pro with Apple. To my supprise once I got it up and running I opended up Mail to find a “Thanks for registering your iPod touch” email.
Strange, I guess Apple is not all that prepared for these new Macbooks and Macbook Pros. Anyone else encounter this?

can't say that I have encountered anything remotely like that at all
Did you register your new laptop with Apple during the initial Leopard boot?
Yes, same thing happened to me after I registered my new macbook. I bought it the day they hit the stores. So does this mean when I make a warranty claim they will only cover an ipod touch?
Yeah, it happened to me too. I hope they still have their records straight.
Hey i forgot which email i used to register my macbook pro
Im thinking its the normal one i use but when i search for the mail, nothing about registering macbook pro show up…?
what i mean to ask if is there a way to check the email?
I would suggest just calling or email Apple support and ask them to verify the email based on the serial number of the computer.
If I recall reading somewhere, Apple takes the sales info and puts that in a registration database when it is shipped.
Also, when I bought my iPods at my local Apple Store (NH), they register them right there at the terminal.
I received a similar e-mail and it was a scam.
Same thing happened to me a while back. Not the end of the world
