Apple’s New Mobile Store Suffers Downtime On Release Day
June 15th, 2010 | General | 6 Comments
This morning, I was reading all about the new Apple mobile store on my RSS feeds. Leave it up to Apple to figure out another damn way for me to spend to much money. Anyways, what I found interesting is that once I installed the application from the App Store, I was greeted with this beautiful store front:
I don’t know about you all, but I am pretty sure Apple would never allow a third-party application to go live in the App Store if it was not working as advertised.
Should Apple hold themselves responsible for the same standards they hold their third-party developers responsible for?

Yes…they should. Double standards are never a good thing. Lately I have felt that Apple has been slipping away from their old quality. Too many bugs resulting in constant patching, no more cool updates. They seem to be sliding away from their phenomenal Macs (hardware and software).
I agree with you in that Apple is releasing more and more bug fixes and less and less actual added features.
I wonder if their need to be secretive about every new product is hindering their ability to thoroughly test the product in the wild.
They picked probably the best day to release it. I doubt any other iPhone title – paid or free – received so much attention on release day.
Was that smart though? I think it would have been best to release it before iPhone pre-order day, so they could really test it in the wild.
