I was in the same boat - getting tired of the single strap bags and looked everywhere for the right backpack. I ended up with the Recon model, but I like the features you've pointed out with the Surge (especially the designed pocket for power cords). I paid $165 for my current book bag (Skullcandy) 2-3 years ago for the extra protection, and it included speakers (neat feature).<br><br>Since I'll be looking for something else when the time comes to buy a new Macbook Pro (soon, I hope) this will definitely be on my list.<br><br>Thanks for the review.
