I have an old
Northface Modem backpack and am looking to get a new ba that I can carry my SLR in.
Been thinking about a Lowepro but the Northface bags look alot better - can you post some info on how successful you were on adding padding etc into the backpack for you camera - pics/vids would be good if possible!

Hi

Thanks for the great review.

Could the laptop compartment be used for hydration? Is there any place where the hose could come out? Is it possible that the material hooks on the shoulder straps are to keep a hose in place?

How have the side pockets proved for holding your drink containers?

Thanks

Hey Chris,
Thanks for taking the time to do this review. In the video, you mentioned that you were looking into getting some sort of padding and dividers for packing a DSLR and some lenses in this bag. Have you found anything you can recommend for keeping a camera and some lenses safe and protected in there, while not being so bulky that it overwhelms the other compartments?

Thanks!

Thanks for the great review ... I was in the same boat - getting tired of the single strap bags and looked everywhere for the right backpack. I ended up with the Recon model, but I like the features you've pointed out with the Surge (especially the designed pocket for power cords). I'm 5'7" and concerned about bulkiness, but I think you've convinced me to pick one up :-)

Hey thanks for the great review. I have decided to buy this backpack. How did you design the padding for your SLR and where did you place it inside the backpack?

Hey Chris,<br>thanks for the great review. The next day I saw someone in my commute wearing the black one and went straight to North Face to look at it. I couldn't wait to buy it online so I bought a black one at the TNF Store. It does seem quite expensive but when you compare to a Kenneth cole briefcase or a pair of sneakers and how long this is going to last it is reasonable.

Unfortunately we don't have any official North Face stores, so it has to be online shopping for me.
